As the longest running consumer show in the world, the Ideal Home Show celebrated its inaugural year in China in 2017. Established in 1908, the event hosts 230,000 visitors annually and over the last century has shaped the home and lifestyle industry in the United Kingdom. The event, launched in Shanghai in December 2017, brings together international manufacturers, retailers, interior designers, building specialists and industry experts to showcase the best of architectural, home and lifestyle innovation. The inaugral year marked the first time the concept will be previewed outside of Britain.

With the inaugural year to the Ideal Home Show, the correct brand positioning was paramount. Balancing the heritage and legacy of the show in the UK, the optimal brand perception and the shared interests of the wider Media10 event portfolio.

Our curatorial expertise along with a distinct operational understanding and creative competency allows Infrastructure to lead the concept development of the features within the event, sourcing and procuring content as well as project management and execution.

The Ideal Home Show presented a broad range of features representing manifestations of the modern lifestyle. This included an open kitchen with live demonstrations, a ‘Home of The Future’ set and a 3-story house, the first of it’s kind to be built in China. Key to the success and authenticity of these features was creating carefully styled and staged environments.

The Infrastructure team managed the full process, from initial direction, through to procurement and on-site styling.
