Launched in 1956, the luxury carpet maker Tai Ping represents one of Hong Kong’s only heritage brands, producing luxury, artisnal hand-woven pieces. Having acquired several subsidiary brands, Tai Ping now operates globally, providing a vertically-integrated service from initial design and conception, through to manufacture and retail, for both private consumers and commercial contracts.

A comprehensive business assessment of Tai Ping’s overall vertical integration strategy was conducted to evaluate the restructuring necessary to enhance the company’s performance in the Asia Pacific region. Key focus points included range and merchandising planning, marketing initiatives and a succinct retail strategy that encompassed new distribution channels. 

Alongside the wider brand study, a full retail analysis was completed and presented, inclusive of commercial real estate surveys, design concepts and financial implications with ROI analysis for the Hong Kong flagship store.
